Watercolor and Light

Watercolor paintings with positive inspiration.

Carla Wysko.

“Watercolor reminds me that the best things in life come from going with the flow, instead of trying to control them.” — Carla

Life can be harsh, but we have the resilience, adaptability, and light of love, to find our way through it all. My watercolor paintings are just one of the tools that have helped me stay in peace and balance. I have combined them with the power of positive thinking to help share the light of love and hope to anyone who is in need and finds them helpful.

A watercolor painting of a tree with text: "Although the winds blow around me, I remain firm on my foundation, centered in peace, and protected by spirit."

Michigan Shoreline

Michigan’s Great Lakes display some of the most beautiful shorelines in the world! There is so much peace and beauty to be found there. I try to remember that despite all the chaos in the world, the rocky cliffs and old trees have stood strong, silent and peaceful. This reminds me that we have the ability to do that too.

A watercolor painting of a sunset with text: "I cannot hold negative emotions while being grateful. I choose to practice gratitude all day long."

Gratitude

Some emotions are low-vibrational such as fear, blame, shame and grief. While these emotions are valid, lingering in them too long causes harm to the body and soul. Instead of trying to dismiss them, it’s better to hold gratitude throughout the day until that becomes the more prominent habit. At first, you may only be able to be grateful for the sunrise, the little flowers or the air you breathe, but in time it will get easier and you will begin to find gratitude for your strength to carry on and your ability to hold onto hope.

A watercolor painting of trees with text: "I love myself, including my shadows, which have much to teach me."

Shadows and Brilliance

Life is full of contrast to help us find our way. Sometimes we find out what we want in life by experiencing what we do not want. Sometimes we find the light in ourselves by understanding our shadows. A Michigan autumn is full of contrasts, creating a beautiful buffet of colors!

A watercolor painting of a couple holding hands with text: "Human touch and laughter strengthen my body. I make time for hugs, massages and reasons to laugh at life."
